How do I gain the CIPD Certificate in HR and L&D Practice?

To successfully gain the Certificate you need to:

How long does it take?

The CIPD Certificate in both HR Practice and Learning and Development Practice take just over 9 months to complete. We prefer you to progress through the programme with the same study group.

Absolutely; unlike a lot of university or college courses, you don’t need an academic qualification to enroll. If, like many of our learners, you haven’t studied for some time, don’t be put off. You’ll have all the support you need along the way to successfully gain the qualification. The qualification is recommended for those who are:

  • interested in enhancing their strategic leadership capabilities in HR

Who is the CIPD Advanced Diploma in HR Development for?
The qualification is recommended for existing trainers and senior L&D professionals who are:

  • experienced in L&D

How do I gain either the Advanced Diploma in HR Management or HR Development?
To successfully gain the Diploma you need to:

  • complete all the course units that make up the programme
  • sit for and pass the core unit examinations

  • successfully complete assignments and assessed work.

How long does it take?
The full CIPD Advanced Diploma in both HR Management and HR Development take just about 24 months to complete. We prefer you to progress through the programme with the same study group over the two years but acknowledge that circumstances may not permit for this to happen.

Why Blended learning?

Blended learning is very ideal for Nigerian HR professionals looking to acquire the CIPD qualifications. This highly successful and interactive approach works well for the Nigerian professional by ensuring you don’t have to travel out of Nigeria to gain any of the CIPD professional qualifications while providing you with very practical and relevant techniques and tools to deal with pertinent HR issues within your workplace.
Our programmes offer you;  

  • Support and direction from MOL tutors who are also current HR practitioners. Outside of workshops, these tutors can be contacted by telephone, fax and email
  • Interactive workshops where you work with tutors and other students to consolidate your learning and put theories and models into practice
  • learning materials that are interactive and highly practical, and are provided in the most suitable media for the learning required. Our blend of learning includes printed workbooks and handouts, CIPD text books, CD-ROMs and interactive resources available on our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)

All course materials are provided as part of your fee.

Foundation Certificate Programme Structure

Candidates can apply to study for either the Foundation Certificate in HR practice or the Foundation Certificate in L&D Practice.
Face-to-face induction
Both programmes start with a face-to-face induction where you will:

  • meet your facilitator and the rest of your study group
  • discuss your timetable for the programme along with any assignments you are required to complete

Regular group workshops
You will attend ten course workshop days over the space of nine months and complete assessed work connected to each. There are no examinations for any part of the foundation qualification. The completion of this year of study will earn you the award of a Certificate in your chosen area of HR. You will also be eligible to apply to the CIPD for the Associate CIPD membership status.

Continuous units
In addition to the face-to-face workshops, three core units also run continuously throughout the programme

Support in between workshops
In between your group sessions your facilitator will be available when you need additional one-to-one support and guidance. You will be able to contact your facilitator directly by phone, email or through our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).

Learning from others
You will be able to network with other learners throughout your studies, face to face at the group workshops and online via the VLE.

Unique learning resources
All the learning materials are provided as part of your study. These include:

  • Workbooks
  • Textbooks
  • Podcasts and MP4s
  • Online support

Advanced Level Programme Structure                    

Candidates can apply to study for either the Advanced Diploma in HR Management or the Advanced Diploma in HR Development.
Face-to-face induction
Both programmes start with a face-to-face induction where you will:

  • meet your facilitator and the rest of your study group
  • discuss your timetable for the programme along with any assignments you are required to complete

Regular group workshops
You will attend thirty course workshop days, structured in 3 day blocks over the space of two years (apprx. 15 days per year) and complete assessed work connected to each. Completion of your first year of study will earn you the award of a Certificate while the completion of your second year of study will earn you the award of a Diploma in your chosen area of HR. You will also be eligible to apply to the CIPD for the Chartered MCIPD membership status.

During your second year of study, you will be required to complete a project in which you will investigate a business issue from an HR perspective. You will also be required to seat examinations during the first and second years to complete your core programme units. The cost of your exam fees is not included in the course fee and will be paid directly to the CIPD. The exam dates will be confirmed at the start of each year’s programme and will take place in Nigeria. You will not be required to travel abroad for this purpose. 

On completion of your Diploma, there is the option of extending your study for a further 3 to 6 months during which you will work on the investigation of a business issue from an HR perspective in much further detail and write a dissertation to satisfy the award of a Master of Arts (MA.) Degree in HR Management or HR Development depending on which area you chose at the start of your programme. It is important that MOL and Peoplesource Consulting are aware of your intention to study for an MA at the commencement of your second year of study. The Masters qualification is awarded by the CIPD.

Continuous units
In addition to the face-to-face workshops, there will be one continuous core unit studied each year. The continuous unit will run alongside three other units each year. This will include another core unit and two optional units.

Program Fees?

The cost of your programme will depend on the qualification you choose to study for. The Foundation Certificate Programmes run for a year. Studying for either of these qualifications will cost £8,650.00.

The Advanced Level Programmes run for two years. Studying for the advanced qualifications will cost £25,885.00 if you pay ahead for the two years. This affords you a small discount on your fee. If you choose to pay yearly, you will pay £13,275.00 at the start of each year.

In all cases, full fee payment is required six weeks prior to commencement of your programme. Please request a programme brochure for full details. Please note that places will be allocated based on a list of paid-up registrations using the first come first served rule.

 

Student Registration and Examination Fees

You will need to pay your student registration fees and (if applicable) your exam fees directly to the CIPD. We will provide you with information to enable you do so when required.
